I am thrilled to announce the publication of my second solo book, The Power of Breath: A 24-Hour Guide to Transforming Your Life Through Conscious Breathing.
This book represents the culmination of nearly two decades of my work in the realm of personal energy management, high performance, and well-being. Since 2005, when I became licensed and certified in The Power of Full Engagement by Dr. Jim Loehr, I have been fascinated by how individuals can harness their energy to unlock potential and thrive in all areas of life. Through workshops and individual coaching, I have had the privilege of guiding countless people to better understand and optimize their physical, emotional, and mental energy.
However, 2017 was the year everything changed.
That January, after two years of keeping Patrick McKeown’s The Oxygen Advantage on my bookshelf, I finally opened it—and I couldn’t put it down. By May, I was attending the Oxygen Advantage® Certification Workshop and earned my certification as a breathing instructor. It was a pivotal moment.
I had spent years exploring resilience, time management, and physical fitness, yet I had overlooked something so fundamental—breathing.
Why Don’t We Pay Attention to Breathing?
Breathing is life’s most natural and automatic function. We are born knowing how to breathe, and for many of us, that’s where the relationship ends. The air around us is abundant, and as long as we keep breathing, we assume all is well. But this assumption robs us of an incredible opportunity.

In The Power of Breath, I aim to bridge this gap. I didn’t write this book to reinvent the wheel but to contribute a unique piece to the growing body of work on conscious breathing. The Two Pillars of Well-Being: Sleep and Breath
When it comes to sustaining health, energy, and peak performance, two things stand out: sleep and breathing. Both are non-negotiable, but there is a key distinction.
- Sleep happens to you. While you can improve sleep hygiene and set the stage for better rest, the act of sleeping is largely involuntary.
- Breathing is different. You can breathe unconsciously, but you can also choose to breathe consciously and with intention. This ability gives breathing a unique power among the functions of life.

Why I Wrote The Power of Breath
I wrote this book because I believe that breathing is the bridge between surviving and thriving. We are all living through challenging times—balancing demanding careers, personal goals, and the stresses of modern life. Breathing is the one tool that is always with us, free of charge, and profoundly transformative when used with intention.
